BIG DATA :

ABSTRACT.

With the advancement of technology and the development of the internet, the power of information has come to the forefront today, and with this, many cases in the world of the Internet have become known as ‘Information Dump’. Software companies, who think that meaningful data can come out of this dump, carried out R & D studies in this sense and uncovered what we call Big Data.

This phenomenon, which we call Big Data, is not exactly like this, although it makes a lot of data connotation. Big Data is a form of all these data that we obtain from different sources such as social media shares, photo archives, and ım log ız files that we continuously record.

Until recently, the available data was stored in designated tables, either in numerical or verbal compartments. But now, when it is necessary to track a customer's share on facebook, data types that are difficult to associate with the reporting software we use in the customer's data such as pictures, music and videos are included. Nowadays, the use of all this data has become a necessity. In short, our goal has been to extract valuable data from the information dump.

Let us explain the concept of Big Data as follows; With the progress of technology and the rapid development of the internet, the importance of information and data in digital environment has increased to a great extent today. In this direction, many concepts in digital environments are referred to as “information pollution.. Some software companies who think that meaningful data can come out of this pollution have directed their research to this area and have come up with the concept called Big Data.

In fact, data big data ir is the cumulative accumulation of information and data that we produce. All of our individual behaviors create data. We gather information by combining this data and generating statistics. For example: Let Ahmet go to a restaurant called x for breakfast. Then he can drive to work. Let Mehmet go to school by bus and eat breakfast at x restaurant. These behaviors of Ahmet and Mehmet are data.

When collected cumulatively, they form the data big data ız in which we will generate statistics and information. When we process this accumulated data, we find out what percentage of x restaurant customers are students and what percentage are employees, and whether those who prefer x restaurant arrive here by public transport or by private vehicle. This information is ultimately effective in the decision-making process of all actions, from the menu of the restaurant to the decoration, advertising strategies.

Big Data is a form of all these data that we obtain from different sources such as social media shares, photo archives, and make them meaningful and processable. The following three concepts are very important in the formation of Big Data:

Volume: Represents the amount of data. A typical computer had a storage capacity of 10 gigabytes in 2000. Today, Facebook feeds 500 terabytes of new data every day. So if you have hundreds of terabytes of data, we can say that your data is moving towards becoming Big Data.

Velocity (Speed): Big Data production accelerates its speed day by day and this data reaches incredible dimensions per second. For example, the New York stock exchange obtains 1 terabyte of commercial information per session.

Variety: Variety represents data in different formats. For example; data such as geographic data, 3D data, audio and video and log files, social media. When all these contents are examined, it is not possible to say that the data is uniform.

Big Data provides the opportunity to understand human behaviors, make predictions and intelligent management based on the data owned by enterprises by digitalizing data and collecting and organizing the data received in different dimensions. Based on this, let us examine the contributions of Big Data in the sector:

· Big data in the manufacturing industry: Big data can be used to identify machine and process variations that can be indicators of quality problems.

· Big data on sales: Helps increase sales for the business. It also helps in identifying sales resources and accounts, optimizing product mix and other operations.

· Big data in the financial sector: Risk portfolios are minimized risk within a few minutes, enabling future forecasts to be made.

· Big data in the retail industry: Retailers use Big Data to deliver personalized shopping experiences to consumers.

· Big data in the health sector: Disease detection, follow-up and personal DNA analysis to enhance health.

ü Some data sources create large volumes of data in just 60 seconds:

· More than 60 blogs are being built and 1500 blog posts are being written.

· More than 600 new videos are uploaded on Youtube.

· More than 40 questions answered on Yahoo and answers.com answers more than 100 questions.

· More than 1300 iPhone applications are downloaded every minute.

· About 320 accounts are created on Twitter and more than 98,000 tweets per minute.

In our opinion, the most important problem that arises with the storage and processing of big data is the protection of individual privacy as in the developments in the information sector. Studies are continuing in this direction and the subject is becoming a specialty. The aim of the big data studies is to increase the customer satisfaction with online reports by using the data that we have not been able to record until now, and then to save our company value and of course money.

With the spread of big data, we see that it is used in a new field every day. In parallel, “Big Data Marketing Pazarlama appears in the field of Marketing. Although data-driven marketing is a new approach for our country, Netvent offers services that enable you to develop effective marketing strategies over big data.
